WHY WE LOVE BOOKS

A COLLABORATIVE ARTIST’S BOOK

During our April 2022 meeting, we collaborated with members of the public on a book about how much we love books!

Learn how to assemble a leporello book using a bonefolder and tape runner. A leporello structure (or concertina) is a double-sided accordion book with folios (folded pages) that alternate back to front. It flutters open with ease and is a great structure for collaborative books. The book in this video was made by members of the Book Arts Guild of Central Florida with members of the community at the Winter Park Public Library in April 2022. Each participant contributed a folio on why they love books. (Yes, it's a book about books!) It is available for purchase at Joybird Books in Orlando, FL

WRITING ABOUT & DOCUMENTING YOUR WORK

Rachel Simmons and Nikki Fragala Barnes led a workshop providing advice for documenting and writing about your artist's books on Saturday, May 22, 2021. If you were unable to join us, we have some resources + artifacts to share with you from the workshop:
