“Acquaintance and Description” is about autobiography, memory and perception. It contains my own writing and illustrations, with text from “The Problems of Philosophy” by Bertrand Russell. The zine emerged after writing a whole bunch of grant and award applications in which I was asked to tell someone about my decades-long artistic practice within a certain word count. This demand always sets in motion choices about what/how I remember or perceive my own experiences, & what story I choose to craft about these experiences for readers unknown, hoping that it makes sense to them. Anyway, all that ponderous content also comes with cute stickers!
