It’s a been more than a minute, well past time for a few updates. First, I have been working on a zine project called “Sinkhole Fever” with fellow Orlando-based artists Anna Cruz and Adam Lavigne. As long-time residents of the surreal state of Florida, we thought, what could be a better subject for a collaborative zine than the experience of living here? We sent out an open call earlier this fall and received more submissions than we expected by some super cool Florida-based artists and writers. This 30+ page zine will be available for purchase at this year’s Orlando Zine Fest on December 15, 2018 from 5-8 pm at Will’s Pub in Orlando.
Looking ahead to 2019, I will show work from the Language of Watching at two different venues. First up will be Alt_Space at Arts on Douglas, in New Smyrna Beach. The show runs May 4-June 15, 2019 with an opening reception on May 4th from 4-7 pm and an artist’s talk on May 17th from 11 am -12 pm.
The Language of Watching will travel to Central Print in downtown St. Louis for an exhibition and a workshop to further expand the community-based project FLOCK. Participants in FLOCK will include patrons and neighbors of Central Print. The exhibition will run August 1-31, 2019 with the FLOCK workshop taking place Saturday, August 3rd.
